Roadrunner Venture Studios Hosts Community Showcase for Local Scientists

Albuquerque, New Mexico (June 22) — Roadrunner Venture Studios hosted a community showcase highlighting local scientists and their research.

Albuquerque, New Mexico (June 22) — Roadrunner Venture Studios today will host a community showcase highlighting local scientists and their research. The event at Glorieta Station in Albuquerque will attract prominent scientists, technologists, researchers, and investors to engage with cutting-edge research developed in New Mexico’s world-renowned national laboratories and universities. The showcase serves as a precursor to Roadrunner's official launch, anticipated in the fall of 2023.

“I’m excited to celebrate the incredible and underappreciated science and research in this state with both leading investors and the broader Albuquerque community,” said Adam Hammer, Co-Founder and President of Roadrunner Venture Studios. “This showcase demonstrates the deep reservoir of breakthrough ideas and talent in New Mexico, and shows how together, with the capital, support, and know-how of Roadrunner, we can create thriving deep-tech companies right here in the heart of Albuquerque.”

Roadrunner Venture Studios, which will focus on commercializing and scaling frontier technologies, attracted over 50 scientists to present their research. Chris Cassidy of the New Mexico Investment Council as well as investors from leading venture funds including Playground Global, Lux Capital, and Scout Ventures will attend. Gilman Louie, CEO of America’s Frontier Fund (AFF), and Jordan Blashek, President of AFF, will also travel to Albuquerque. Roadrunner Venture Studios was the first investment out of AFF’s flagship fund, Frontier Fund I.

“We’re thrilled to start building companies that allow the community to capture the value of New Mexico's world-class research and innovations,” said Steve Weinstein, Roadrunner Studios Chairman of the Board. “These companies will enrich the local economy, drawing on the community's strong local talent while benefiting from the fresh new voices of Roadrunner technologists and entrepreneurs.”

“It’s long past time for New Mexico to harness the power of its research. Roadrunner is prepared to unleash the state's innovative power and bring new ideas to the market,” said Roadrunner Partner and Siri Co-creator Norman Winarsky. “We’re ready to think big. Turning New Mexico's innovations into real businesses could help solve some of the world's biggest problems.”
