Katherine Binney serves as Senior Manager, Product at Roadrunner. She brings a market and customer focused approach to pipeline evaluation and venture building. Katherine conducts sourcing and evaluation for potential studio companies and serves as a product manager for a portion of early portfolio companies.

Previously, Katherine worked at Schmidt Futures, the philanthropy of Eric Schmidt (former Google CEO). There, Katherine developed internal tools for impact measurement to direct overall funding strategy. Prior to joining the strategy team at Schmidt, Katherine completed their Associate Product Manager program, developing products at the intersection of tech & social impact for a variety of grantees. In that role, Katherine served as the first product manager at Recidiviz, a tech nonprofit for criminal justice reform. Recidiviz’s innovative approach has been recognized by Fast Company, NY Times, and TED. At Recidiviz, Katherine launched products to support rapid decarceration to reduce early impact of COVID in crowded prisons, including backing a 20% reduction in prison population in one state.

Katherine’s background is in computer science, with internship experiences as a software engineer at Meta in Silicon Valley and Two Sigma in NYC. Katherine graduated Phi Beta Kappa, Summa Cum Laude, from Harvard University with a degree in computer science. She now lives outside of Washington D.C. with her golden retriever. She enjoys running, hiking, and volunteering at her local animal shelter in her free time.
